Here's how to place books on hold in Destiny:

How to place HOLDS on books:

1. Login to Destiny in the upper right hand corner of the page.

2. Your username is your last name followed by your first initial, for example: mincklera

3. Your password is your student ID number with - OR - without the zero in front of it, for example: 0604564 -OR- 604564  You might need to try both ways.

4. If you have trouble logging in, and haven't logged into Destiny before, you may have to create a new account by selecting the "Create New Account" tab.

5. Search for books title, author or subject.

6. If you find one you like, place it on "Hold" and Mrs. Minckler will get it ready for you.

7. "Curbside Pickup" information: This is available daily from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can Teams Message, email or call me in the library when you're ready to pickup your books outside of the school.

WCLS is hosting a "Shared Community Reading" of The Truth as Told by Mason Buttle, which is a coming of age mystery that focuses on special needs and bullying. They've secured unlimited online access to this title. This book is geared towards elementary and middle school students, however high school aged students may like it as well! Please follow this link if you're interested in reading this award-winning title. Free Audible Stories audio books, including classics and foreign language titles.
Audible is offering these free audio books because of the current Covid-19 crisis. Books on this site are geared towards a wide variety of students, elementary through high school.

EPIC! Books Link 
EPIC! Books will allow students and educators free access to their collection of eBooks, eAudio books, Read-to-Me books through June 30th. This site has books that will appeal to elementary and middle school students--although, there are many titles that high school students will like as well. You will need to create an account in order to access these books.


Learning Ally students only: Learning Ally Link
Username:  Use the same username that you usually use to log on to school computers. For example, 22mincklera
Password: Your password is your student ID with a capital L and zero before it. For example, L0604564
(Note: Learning Ally is primarily for LHS ELL and Resource English students. Not all LHS students have Learning Ally accounts.)

 

Project Gutenberg Best Books Ever Listing
This list contains some of the best works of literature ever written. You can download books, in a variety of formats, that are HIGHLIGHTED IN BLUE. The list is long; you'll have to scroll down quite a bit to see what's available to you. There are a lot of classics on this list.

Vooks Link
Vooks is a site that has read aloud animated storybooks. This site is geared towards younger students. Students will have free access to this website for one month. You will have to create an account to access books.
